Hult prize at Imo state university, Owerri grand finale: A Reawakening

On Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 11:00 EST at Forward Africa Conference Hall, Plot 3 Okohia Layout, By Ideal Suites Junction, World Bank, Owerri, the #hultprizeatimsu Grand Finale was held.

The United Nations partnered OnCampus program/event which is geared towards encouraging the students to put their minds energy on developing compelling ideas on solving the UN Challenge 2018 – “Providing meaningful jobs for 10,000 young people in the next decade”, really turned out to become a milestone, a reawakening as new great businesses borne by the brightest of student entrepreneurs were unveiled.

The program which started on Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 with an Info Session by the Campus Director and a Workshop on Public Speaking/Presentation by one of our distinguished Trainers/Judges – Oluwasanmi Adekunle – Agbale (Ade Adekunle) just ended in a grand style.


With sixteen (16) contesting teams of 3 or 4 persons each registered, ten (10) competed.

They include:

  • Team Ladies of Glamour
  • Team Uncommon Transformers
  • Team LussHub
  • Team M.E.E.T
  • Team KIO Heritage School
  • Team Pure Olive
  • Team JOMACHI, and

The top three (3) that emerged are –

  • Team PLASRUBO (Winning team)
  • Team KIO Heritage School (1st Runners-Up)
  • Team PITCHFARM (2nd Runners-Up).

Many thanks to one of our Proud Partners – OLUAKA INSTITUTE as the three (3) teams will be undergoing a 3months Incubation/Mentoring Program with them, and the Imo State Directorate for Employment for the Partnership with Team PITCHFARM.

While filling in this report, the Campus Director (the Social Impact Enthusiast himself) – Abel Onyekachi Uchegbulam remarked, “Now, we have a winning team, IMSU will be ably represented at the Regionals”.

He went further to eulogize the efforts of the Organizing Committee Members, the strategic partners, rockstar Judges and all lovers of #hultprizeatimsu impact, for helping in launching the next impactful world-changing businesses.

IMSU is being heard, and the students are in high hopes now!
